HE GOT THE JOB!

Yes, after all this time of looking and trying and working his butt off–Frank got a job at an airline!  YAY!!!!!!!!!!  I cannot even express how happy I am for him or how excited I am for his new position!

I LOVE YOU FRANK!

Wedding Pictures

We have been married for nearly 10 mos, and we just got our wedding album.  Even though it took most of our marriage to get these pictures (drama queen), I have to say I am VERY happy with the results!  Our album is gorgeous!!  I cried looking through it, it turned out so beautiful!  YAY!  I had been worried about it because it had taken so long and I wasn’t sure how it would look.  I was actually scared to see it because I didn’t know how it was going to look.  But wow–it defied all of my expectations!

Anyway.  Good stuff with that.

Hangin’ Out with Erin

I spent this evening over at my dear friend Erin D’s house–she has just the cutest place!  She and her husband have just done a great job fixing up the place–new windows, molding, cabinets, counters, sinks, bathroom, tiling, garage–everything!  Just so beautiful and cozy and well-decorated!  Lots of personal touches from their lives around the house, too.

Anyway… long day… time for bed!!!

Spiderman!!!

I just love that guy–what a hottie 🙂 I saw Spiderman2 Tuesday night with Frank and it was soooo good–even better than the first one.

Frank and I have discussed this (and so have Kelly and I–as a matter of fact, I give her all the credit for most of my thoughts on this), and I think the reason why Spiderman is the best super hero is because his story is about the decision to be great and the conflict surrounding the decision. Even the bad guys have the same decisions and that is what the story is all about–not their powers and the fight scenes, but that conflict and every day, self-sacrificing heroes.

Anyway, he’s my favorite. 🙂

"I got two questions for you,"

… says my husband this morning. “First, what is it that you do every morning with one cotton ball and second, why is it you throw it in the toilet and not the trash basket?”

Ah, the mind and workings of chicks are so beyond men. Frank has probably been mystified by my morning rituals for the past 6 mos, but today it has finally occurred to him to ask the important questions that have been on his mind.

So the answer to the first question is quite simple. Every morning I wash my face and then I use a toner that gets rid of any residual dirt. To use the toner, I put some on a cotton ball and rub away. Good times.

The answer to the second question: when I toss the cotton ball in the toilet, I like to watch it puff up. Yep.

Lovely Weekend

So! We had some very exciting Father’s Day news–my sister-in-law, Kath, is pregnant! YAY!!!! This is baby #2. HURRAH!

Other than that excitement, Frank and I had a relaxing day of canoeing and napping up at the lake. We had a nice time with the family all weekend long. Woohoo!

Sunday night I stopped by Dave and Andrea’s new house. It is so adorable! They are doing their kitchen like a retro-1950’s diner, complete with black and white checked floor. Their new home is spacious and pretty. They even have a cute little fenced-in backyard for their doggie, Giles.

Anyway, very nice weekend. Hard coming into work, tho!

How We Say, “I Love You.”

This week has been VERY busy. I have worked past 8 or 9 every night and Frank has come down just about every night to pick me up at work and drive me home. What’s amazing is that he offers to do this and is cheerful (for the most part–his back is hurting–another story for another time) when he gets me.

Well, today, he met me at the station at home and told me that he saw that I took out the garbage and folded the laundry. It was really sweet that he noticed that I did that. Anyway, tonight he was going out with the guys for a couple beers, cigars, etc. I came home and turned on the light–the apartment looked amazing!!

Frank put away laundry, started a new load, did the dishes, cleaned the bathtub, scrubbed the toilet, vacuumed hte house, made the bed, straightened up the family room, WENT GROCERY SHOPPING and there were a dozen red roses on the kitchen table, freshly cut and put in a vase.

On the way home from the train, I was thinking aboutall the things I needed to do at home, in addition to some work I brought home. Seeing everything so clean and perfect–he thought of everything–was phenomenal. Taking care of everything at home was the answer to a prayer!

It was the most extravagent, beautiful, meaningful way he could have possibly said he loved me. So, Frank, I LOVE YOU, TOO! 🙂

Too Much Sugar!

So yeah, have a little bit too much sugah over here. Probably won’t eat dinner due to overload! 😀

Frank is home–woohoo! It was a happy reunion, even if I was a bit snippish at first 😉 (what can I say? I missed him!)

Anyway, gotta go for now…wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I Miss My Guy!

So, how is it that I see someone every day (well everyday, if you count “seeing” as when I jump on him to hit the snooze button in the morning)–and he is gone for less than 48 hours and I miss him?? Nuts. I’m such a sucker.

🙂

Time Traveler's Wife / This Weekend

Time Traveler’s Wife

This weekend I read Time Traveler’s Wife in less than 24 hours. I couldn’t put the book down! I highly recommend it. As a matter of fact, if you wish to borrow it, let me know–I can hook you up!

This Weekend

Frank and I had an absolutely lovely weekend together. We went up to the lake on Friday and saw Shrek 2 on Saturday. Sunday we went back up to the lake for Frank’s and Dave’s (brother in law) birthdays. Monday, I hung out with Tammy and Kate, then saw Raising Helen with my friend Erin. Frank and I grilled out Monday night. Ahhh… Bliss.

🙂

Number 5 is Always Number 1 to Me!!

So when Frank and I were in premarital counseling, our pastor imparted a ton of wisdom on us. I’m sure he’d be happy to know that it didn’t go to waste. He told us that he and his wife go through seasons in their marriage. He mentioned that he had just been through a particularly difficult season and he was excited to see what was in store for them.

I noticed that Frank and I also go through seasons, even though we are fairly new to the married game. Right now we are in a particularly contented season of our marriage. Ahh… ::Sigh:: It feels really nice.

This weekend was Frank’s birthday, so we had a busy one. First, Friday, we celebrated Erik’s birthday at Dor and Erik’s beautiful new coach house! It’s absolutely stunning and very new. I love the things she’s done with it so far, even though she doesn’t even live there yet. (technically 😉 )

Saturday I spent A LOT of time with Kate. I say that because it took us 1 1/2 hours to get to a mall 4 miles from my house. And once we were on the road, there was no way to get off because the next exit was the exit to the mall. It was nuts.

Saturday night, we went to Famous Dave’s for Frank’s birthday dinner with a bunch of people and then we went out to Cubby Bear North to see Mike & Joe–very fun! We stayed out very late (way past our bed times!) and danced and sang and everything. GOOD STUFF!!!

Sunday we went to the National Restaurant show–very fun! We ate a ton and came home and napped… ahhh!

MY PEDOMETER…

This brings me to my nifty pedometer. I found that it is great to see how far I’ve walked and all that, but what is even cooler is that if I shake it, it moves a step. That’s MUCH easier than walking all those steps.

So far, I walked 10,564,392,456 steps. I rock.

🙂
